The FAQs
Depending on the month that you are getting married, you should typically hire your videographer about 8-10 months before your wedding date. If you aren’t having a long engagement, your date might still be available. The earlier you can reserve your date, the better chance you’ll be sure to have us be there!
We filmed our first wedding in 2011. After that wedding, we had the opportunity to freelance for a couple of Philadelphia based wedding companies for a couple of years. In 2017, we decided that we wanted to capture stories in our voice, and Red Kite Video was born.
The vast majority of wedding videographers illegally use music that is not licensed to be put into their films. We have access to a music licensing company that we can use to purchase licenses on songs. We try to find songs similar to your favorite bands or songs.
All packages include 2 shooters. We like to have the flexibility to be in 2 places at one time. Not to mention, we can film both of you as you are getting ready, get multiple angles of all the big moments, etc.
Red Kite Video has its FAA Part 107 certification. What this means for you is we’re legally able to professionally capture aerial footage of your wedding. As long as there isn’t an aerial restriction in place, we’ll be more than happy to capture a bird’s eye view of your special day.
Yes! Simply put, we are covered including our drone. Always ask your vendors if they carry insurance and if they are licensed to be doing work in the state. You would be surprised at how many people go buy a camera and call themselves “professionals.”
We pride ourselves on the collaborative nature of our process. 2 weeks before your wedding we’ll have an ideation call with you and your significant other. During this call, we will dive deep to learn what’s important to you that we capture. We’ll also discuss the emotional tone of your wedding film, song tempo, and anything you think is important for us to know. After our call, we’ll have a road map to capture your special day and a great insight into how you would like your video put together.
